Self-blocking apparatus for driving wiper systems

The device has an electric drive (1) in a housing (3) and containing an armature shaft with an armature winding and a first toothing arrangement (4). The armature shaft is axially movable in the housing and is biased by a spring element. A crown wheel or crown wheel segment (5) on the housing engages the first toothing arrangement on the armature shaft in order to be pivoted about an axis of rotation.
