The roller cover (2) may be wound up on a spindle in a box at the front of the luggage compartment of the lorry or pickup truck. The lamellae (4) are fastened together side-by-side and their ends (7) slide in inwards-facing channels (12), with drain holes (17,19) for removal of rainwater. There are gutters (14) under the guide rails (10,11), which slope outward. The lamellae are curved and convex upward so that rainwater runs off the central portion (6) to the sides. There are channels accommodating rollers or sliders (15) in the ends of the lamellae on one side of the cover.
