The motor vehicle's fuel tank cap consists of a housing with an opening and a sealing flap closing off the opening. The flap is hinge-mounted in the cap housing and closes the opening fluidtight by action of a spring (4), and by the overcoming of the spring force is pivoted into the position freeing the opening. The sealing flap is rigidly connected to one end of a support (5), the other end of which is pivot-mounted in a support block fitted in the housing.
