TANK CONNECTION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

The fuel filler door (1) of a motor vehicle has a connection recess to be fixed in a sealed manner in a vehicle body opening, in which a receiving opening is provided for the end piece of a vehicle tank or for the end region of an electrical connector plug, and a lid (3) that closes the connection recess. This lid is mounted by a curved hinge arm (4) in a hinge housing (6) formed laterally on the connection recess (2) about a hinge axis (7) and is held in an open position by a spring (8) provided in the region of the hinge axis (7) and acting against a closing movement. On the side of the connection recess (2) opposite the hinge housing (6), remotely actuatable locking means are provided in order to hold the lid (3) in a closed position against the force of this spring (8). By virtue of the fact that at least one damping body (11) is provided in the hinge housing (6) or on the curved hinge arm (4) in at least one region that comes into contact, elaborate braking means connected to the hinge axis (7) for the lid (3) are avoided.
