Method of making a seal, in particular for the sealing of a vehicle window, and such a seal

To produce a seal, especially for an automobile window pane, a sealing body is extruded for shaping while hot. A decorative body is bonded to the seal during extrusion, with a decorative surface which is spaced from the outer surface and within the sealing body through a skin formed by the shaped mass. The skin is removed after extrusion. The decorative body is formed by the reinforcement carrier at the sealing body. To produce a seal, and especially for an automobile window pane (33), a sealing body (10) is extruded as a strand for shaping while hot. A decorative body (20) is bonded to the seal during extrusion, with a decorative surface (21) which is spaced from the outer surface (11) and within the sealing body through a skin (13) formed by the shaped mass. The skin is removed after extrusion. The decorative body is formed by the reinforcement carrier (22) at the sealing body, of plastics or a metal with surface treatment.
