Airbag module

The airbag module (10) has a gas generator (14) mounted on e.g. the vehicle steering wheel (B). The gas generator is surrounded by a diffuser (18) with a filter region (34) to modulate release of the gas (G). The top and sides of the diffuser (19) form an inverted cup-shape and the outward-extending flange (21) at the bottom is held by bolts (20). The flange clamps the edge of the gasbag (12), whose envelope (22) surrounds the diffuser.
