Height adjustable pedestal

A guide frame (8) with two vertically positioned rails is attached to the upper surface of a rectangular base (2) and holds a carriage (45) provided with a platform (44, 46) serving as the actual footrest (1). The vertical movable carriage (45) is supported by a gas pressurized spring located between the base (2) and the lower surface of the carriage (45). The device (1) can be additionally equipped with a heater of a suitable design joined to the lower surface of the platform (44, 46) which is provided with a number of openings for the release of the heat.
