December 3, 2003
The invention relates to a method for controlling an internal combustion engine during a cold start operation. The engine is supplied with induction air having a substantially constant, lean air/fuel ratio immediately after the engine is started, while the engine has an idling speed that is allowed to vary as a function of the difference between a target air/fuel ratio and an actual air/fuel ratio. The invention further relates to an arrangement for carrying out said method.
