Anti-dazzle safety device for vehicle headlamp

DRIVE December 3, 2003
Source
For a vehicle having automatically swiveling headlights a threshold (213) is defined beyond which dazzle will result. A sensor (216) detects any excursion into the dazzle area (214) and a calculator (217) compares the information with the swivel motor instruction (301). If the two do not match the swiveling mechanism is stuck in the dazzle area and a light leveling motor (209) is used to dip the lights. An Independent claim is also included for : A vehicle equipped with the anti-dazzle control system
