Building element of synthetic material, in particular for an automobile, and process for manufacturing it

A planar component (19) made of plastic, esp for a vehicle, consists of a primary (2) and a secondary thermoplastic film (3), which are deep drawn and joined together. At least one of the films has contours, and a contoured insert (15) is located between the two films. The primary film consists of an ABS plastic, while the secondary film consists of a multi-layered material. The films are warmed in a heating unit (1) and then passed to a thermal forming machine.
