Method of manufacturing a roof carrier system

A roof rail (2) has two front parts (4) and a center part (3) with a separate fastening element (5). Two such roof rails are attached to a motor vehicle's roof so that each side panel of the vehicle's frame has a roof rail. The center part forms a hollow aluminum section (7), e.g. an aluminum extruded section (8). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) A method for producing a roof support system; (b) and for a motor car with a roof support system.
