The guide rail is made by rolling from a thin sheet of metal. The teeth (4) may be cut in the edges of a flat blank before it is bent into the U-shape. The U-shape has a flat horizontal bottom (2) joined to the vertical sides (1) by sharp 90 degree bends. Further sharp 90 degree bends join the tops of the sides to the inward-extending flanges (3) and the edges of the flanges are bent downward through 90 degrees to form the downwardly turned teeth.
