Engine fire preventing arrangement in a motor vehicle

The device (26) has a shut-off valve (28) in the fuel line (18) from a fuel tank (14) to an internal combustion engine and a device (30,38; 46,48) for emptying the fuel from the fuel line into the fuel tank. The device has a fuel container (30) connected to the fuel line and a second shut-off valve (38) that isolates the fuel container from the fuel line in normal operation. The container is subjected to a reduced pressure.
