The combustion chamber is formed between piston (1) and cylinder head (5). A central injector delivering n jets (20) of fuel to form a conic spray at an angle beta. The piston (1) crown has a cone-shaped top face with the apex (6) angle greater than 100 degrees. At top dead center the fuel spray makes contact with the outer edge of the piston.
