The parcel shelf (8) for separating the passenger compartment from the vehicle's boot includes an air channel (16) that channels air from the passenger compartment towards the boot. The air channel includes internal partitions (26) delimiting at least two airflow directions (40,42) that rejoin downstream, with the two airflows providing different properties of propagation of acoustic waves coming from the boot, to reduce noise transmitted to the passenger compartment. An Independent claim is included for a motor vehicle having a passenger compartment and boot separated by the above parcel shelf.
