The motor vehicle has a cover (10) and a tank filler stub (12). A vehicle door (14) closes the opening in the cover when the door is closed, and allows opening of the cover when the door is open. The filler stub (12) is positioned at one edge of the door, so that the door locks the filler cap lock in the operative position.
