The tank cap unit includes a tank cap (14) which can be turned between positions in which the filler neck (12) is open and closed by means of at least one side projecting holder (18) and a fixed turning axis (24a). The turning axis is at a fixed spacing below the endface sealing surface (12a) of the filler neck.
