A fuel filter assembly (10) for a fuel delivery module (11) for a fuel system of a vehicle includes a filter housing (42) adapted to be disposed in a fuel reservoir (22) of the fuel delivery module (11) and having a closed end (46) and an open end (44). The fuel filter assembly (10) also includes a fuel filter (56) disposed in the filter housing (42) and an end cap (72) connected to the filter housing (42) to close the open end (44). The fuel filter (56) has an integral spring (64) cooperating with the filter housing (42) to urge the fuel filter (56) toward the end cap (72). toward the end cap.
