Vehicle seat (1) comprises a seat surface (11), and a back rest (14) having an automatic angle-adjusting device for adjusting the head rest into a freely desirable position. The angle-adjusting device is arranged within the backrest and tilts the head rest padding support (22) about a pivot axis (43) arranged in the back rest and running perpendicular to the seat surface. Preferred Features: A height-adjusting device arranged within the back rest has an electric or pneumatic drive motor for adjusting the height of the head rest. The angle-adjusting device holds the height-adjusting device.
