The interior light has a glass or plastic diffuser plate covering the at least one light source with optical elements (5) on its surface for scattering or deflecting the light output. At least some of the optical elements on the diffuser plate have a central, non-diffusing region (6) and a second diffusing region (7) wholly or partly enclosing it.
