The device has a parking wheel, a spring-loaded locking element that engages parking wheel notches in a park position and an actuator for moving the locking element against the spring loading. The locking element is a parking rod with one end mounted in a housing and the other end permanently coupled to the actuator. The rod can move between the park position and a second position(s) with no shape-locking connection to the parking wheel. The device has a parking wheel, a spring-loaded locking element that engages notches in the parking wheel in a park position and a translational actuator with which the locking element can be moved against the spring loading. The locking element is a parking rod (1) with at least two ends (11,12), one end mounted in a housing and the other end permanently coupled to the actuator (6-9). The rod can be moved between the park position and at least one second position without a shape-locking connection to the parking wheel.
