Source
In a hybrid transmission a differential unit is constituted by a single pinion planetary gear set (4) and a double pinion planetary gear set (5) holding a carrier (c) in common. The input end from a prime mover is coupled to a ring gear (Rd) of the double pinion planetary gear set (5), an output end to a drive system is coupled to the common carrier (c), a first motor/generator (MG1) is coupled to a sun gear (Sd) of the double pinion planetary gear set, a second motor/generator (MG2) is coupled to a sun gear (Ss) of the single pinion planetary gear set (4), and a brake (FB) is enabled to brake a ring gear (Rs) of the single pinion planetary gear set.
