Intake system for an internal combustion engine

DRIVE August 20, 2003
Source
The induction system has a secondary air system (8), and an air feed (5) that contains a choke element. The secondary air system contains a turbine (10) and a compressor (11). The turbine is subjected to the choke pressure difference and hence drives the compressor, which feeds air into the exhaust system (7) via a secondary air line (15) at least during a cold start phase. The compressor and/or the turbine is integrated into an air filter housing (26).
