Airbag module

An airbag module has a housing with side walls (6), a base plate (8), on which an inflator is mounted, as well as a cover plate mounted on the free ends of the side walls (6) for closing the airbag module (2). The housing is provided with a latching or snap-action device (10; 26, 30; 34, 36) for the latching arrangement of the airbag module (2) on a part of the vehicle, in particular on a steering wheel (4). The latching device (10; 26, 30; 34, 36) is formed as an integral part of the housing on the side walls (6) and/or on the base plate (8) of the housing such that the airbag module (2) is mounted merely by means of the latching device (10; 26, 30; 34, 36) captively on the appropriate part of the vehicle.
