Method for regulating a supercharged turbocompressor engine, in which the pressure of engine intake air is measured and a corresponding command value calculated. The difference is calculated and used to command the turbocompressor so that the air intake is adjusted accordingly. A command signal for an extreme operating state is replaced temporarily by an extreme state operating signal in which a maximum pressure difference across the turbocompressor is set when a transient engine operating state is detected.
