Seat comprises a seat part (10) and a back rest (12) which can be transferred from an operational position into a non-operational position. The seat part is movably positioned in a horizontal vehicle plane (E) below the back rest. The back rest pivots about a pivot axis (26) into this horizontal plane. Preferred Features: The seat part consists of an upper seat cushion (16) and a lower seat cushion (18) connected via contact surfaces arranged in a horizontal plane. The back rest is connected on its rear side (20) to a support part (22) positioned on a transverse support (24) of the car body so that it pivots about the pivot axis extending perpendicular to the direction of travel of the vehicle.
