Knee restraint for motor vehicles

The knee support is mounted inside the vehicle superstructure near the dash board and has a cross support with deformation element (14) which has a first hollow support section (18) running along the supporting wall (9) of the dashboard (1), and a second additional hollow support section (19) at an angle to the first and fixed on the cross support. The two hollow support sections can be compact and combined into one light metal component.
