The front flap is fastened to a vehicle body via a hinge unit with four-bar mechanism, and the position of a body-sided joint is changed by an energy accumulator (7), when the flap is in collision with a pedestrian. A steering bar (8) is hinged to the displaceable body-sided joint (6) of the control bar (5) and to the body (3). The four-bar mechanism (2) consists of a short and a long bar (5,4), and the joint is located on the short bar. The energy accumulator has a mechanical spring and/or a pneumatic spring, or a pyrotechnic device.
