Magnetic field generating system and device for cableless supply of a plurality of sensors and/or actuators

Magnetic field generation system has a 2-D coil arrangement with two orthogonal coils (1, 2) surrounding a machine or system (4) with the coil axes (11, 12) perpendicular to each other. The coils are supplied by two alternating power supplies (8, 9). To generate a 2-D rotating field, both alternating power supplies have the same frequency, similar current and voltage amplitudes and are synchronized with each other. There is a phase difference of 90 degrees between the two power supplies. Independent claims are made for two further coil arrangements for generating a 3-D magnetic field.
