To generate a 2-D rotating field, both alternating power supplies have the same frequency, similar current and voltage amplitudes and are synchronized with each other. There is a phase difference of 90 degrees between the two power supplies. Independent claims are made for two further coil arrangements for generating a 3-D magnetic field.",
