Final drive

A final drive for a wheel (20) is described, wherein the compact final drive (40) contains a stationary housing (42) and a rotating housing (60). Coupled to the stationary housing is an axial piston hydraulic motor (38), which drives a planetary gear unit for driving the rotating housing (60). A clutch/brake unit controls the planetary gear unit by braking a planet carrier (54). The clutch/brake unit is provided with an annular piston (86), which is supplied with pressurized hydraulic fluid from the motor inlet passage of the axial piston hydraulic motor (38).
