Monitoring device for vehicles

The surroundings monitor for a motor vehicle (11) has a monitoring camera (12) inside or outside the vehicle bodywork. The camera has a signals source (13) for a display indicator (14) for the user. The display can be a flat flexible display screen (15) connected to the inside of the bodywork.
