Multi part reference element for a shaft angle measuring device
DRIVE
February 12, 2003
The reference element (100) is provided by a ring fitted coaxially to the crankshaft and divided into different sections (101,102) around its periphery. The ring can cooperate with a sensor for providing detectable impulses during the crankshaft rotation. The reference element is formed by splitting an integral ring into sections by a process of propagating cracks. The sections are screwed together so that they are clamped around the crankshaft.
