Sealing profile for a motor vehicle

The sealing strip fits between the bodywork and an opening window (10). It has a receiving groove (14) which takes the edge of the window when it is closed, in the process of which the strip sector (18) forming the groove is deformed under pressure from the edge (16) of the window. This strip sector has a soft elastic sealing layer (22) on the side facing the window edge, laid on a harder carrier layer (24) behind it.
