Airbag module with a gas generator used as a vibration-damping mass

The gas generator for an airbag mounted on a car steering wheel acts as a vibration damper. It is mounted on the airbag housing by an annular plastic spring (1) which has an inner ring (4) vulcanized to it. This fits into a groove (7) on the generator casing (2).
