The present invention relates to a supercapacitor balancing method comprising the derivation of current flowing in the supercapacitor from a so-called threshold voltage, predetermined, across the terminals of the supercapacitor, the derivation current being a function of the voltage across the supercapacitor that increases continuously as a function of this voltage. [0002] This method is characterized in that the derivation current increases between the threshold voltage for which the derivation current is called minimum derivation current, and a so-called reference voltage for which the derivation current is called nominal derivation current, and in that the difference between the reference voltage and the threshold voltage is less than 200 mV, and the ratio between the nominal derivation current and the minimum derivation current is greater than 100.
