To prevent exhaustion of a battery by minimizing standby current while maintaining maximum response of a remote control lock apparatus (13). A lock control means (15) for controlling an actuator for actuating and de-actuating a steering lock device (27) of a vehicle by means of a remote control transmitter (14) is provided, and power is saved by intermittently supplying a standby current to the lock control means (15) while the steering lock device (27) is actuated. In a normal mode for a short standby time, the standby current is supplied to an ID code obtaining means (16) at a high intermittent supply ratio to thereby save power while maintaining quick response in de-actuating the steering lock device (27). In a long leaving mode for a long standby time, the standby current is supplied to both the ID code obtaining means (16) and an ID code verifying means (17) at a low intermittent supply ratio to thereby further save power while slightly sacrificing response in de-actuating the steering lock device (27).
