Method and apparatus for improving visibility in a vehicle

The method involves radiating laser light with a wavelength outside the visible spectrum in a defined angular range observed by a camera whose images are displayed top the driver. The laser light is only radiated continuously if the vehicle headlamps are in operation and/or if the vehicle is moving.
