Airbag module and associated vehicle steering wheel

The airbag module(16) has an elastomer hollow profile(24) which is supplied with the horn switch and rests upon the module. The hollow profile is installed on the rear side of the module and constructed so that it is braced to push back the module after horn operation into an initial position. The hollow profile is installed on or in the module so that it seals a gap(26) through which gas from the gas generator(20) can flow. An Independent claim is included for a steering wheel for a motor vehicle equipped with an airbag module which has an elastomer hollow profile supplied with the horn switch.
