Actuating mechanism for a parking brake

This parking brake operating arrangement has a parking brake lever (2), which is cast in one piece of a light metal alloy, pivoting on a mount (3) formed in the same way. The side walls of the parking brake lever (2) are provided with weight reducing cut-outs (22). The parking brake lever (2) has a cylindrical guide-way (4) formed through it, in which the parking brake release rod (7) slides against a return spring (19) to operate the parking brake release mechanism.
