Seating element for a vehicle seat with antisubmarining device
DRIVE
October 2, 2002
The sitting section (2) of the motor vehicle's seat is connected to a transverse support (10) in such a way that with the initiation of an accident conditioned increased sitting force the seat shell (12) is pivoted relatively around the transverse support by an increasingly steeper inclination angle. The transverse support has a double walled profiled element (14) with a fixed inner profile (14a), and a tubular outer profile (14b) connected to the seat shell. Upon reaching or exceeding the release force the outer profile is rotatable relative to the inner profile.
