Safety harness
DRIVE
September 25, 2002
The safety harness, for a racing car driver, has a belt (3) around the pelvis and two shoulder belts (4) which lie flat at the rib cage (7) and over the shoulders (7a). The belt edges (9) towards the breastbone (8) are shorter than the belt edges (10) away from the breastbone, at least over a central length section (11). The shoulder belts are of synthetic fibers which shrink with heat, to give the structured edge curvature.
