Series hybrid vehicle, capable to drive without batteries
DRIVE
September 18, 2002
The drive power P is evaluated from the following function: P=Pmax.((Regime-Idling Regime)/(Max Regime-Idling Regime))Regulation; where Regulation is an operating parameter, Regime is the regime of the thermal engine at the time of calculation, Idling Regime is thermal engine idling, Max. Regime is the regime of the thermal engine used at the point of maximum power. The traction system for the series hybrid vehicle includes a thermal engine (10) driving an alternator (11), and an electric traction motor (21) connected to the alternator by an electrical connection (12) and a wave shaper (22). The wave shaper allows the electric traction motor to operate at a given torque. The system also includes an accelerator control (CA) controlled by the driver, and an actuator (15) acting on the thermal engine, a drive (32) moving the position of the actuator as a function of the accelerator control position until at least a limit when the given torque reaches maximum torque for the electrical traction motor. A vehicle propulsion torque drive unit (31) permits permanent calculation of the given torque as a function of the vehicle's speed and as a function of the drive power (P) evaluating the power available from the thermal engine output shaft as a function of the real regime of the thermal engine.
