Passenger seat with occupant detection sensor

The passenger seat has a seat part (1) and a turning backrest (2). The backrest has an initial position and can also be locked in at least one in-use position. There is a sensor (3) in the seat, by means of which it can be established whether the seat is occupied or not. An element (4) is provided to return the backrest to a preset position.
