Automotive vehicle with a vehicle seat

The fold-down passenger seat (1,2) has a backrest (3,4) which is pivoted forwards to rest on top of the seat squab and a passenger seatbelt (5) extending across the front and top surfaces (7,8) of the backrest and secured to a fixing provided by the automobile body at the rear of the passenger seat. The seatbelt is reeled in automatically when the backrest is returned from the fold-down position into its working position.
