Towing assembly

A socket assembly (3) for use with a retractable or detachable tow hook (2) for a vehicle is disclosed. The socket assembly (3) comprises a socket (4) for providing an electrical connection between a trailer or load carrier and the vehicle. The socket assembly (3) is adapted to be mounted to the vehicle, and the socket (4) is movable between a retracted position and a use position. The socket assembly comprises a locking mechanism for locking the socket in the use position, whereby the locking mechanism is adapted to be unlocked such as to allow the socket (4) to be moved from the use position to the retracted position. Further, a trailer towing assembly (1) comprising a tow hook (2) and the socket assembly (3) is disclosed.
