DRIVE
May 8, 2002
The engine has a crankshaft with n crank throws connected to pistons, and arranged in set angle positions to form a crank star. The throws are located in the star in such a way, that the firing sequence belonging to this star, among all possible firing sequences of n cylinders, has the lowest torque amplitude of the second order. The firing sequence has an angle of 720/n degrees crankshaft. The n throws in the star are evenly offset through an angle of 360n degrees .
