Vehicle seat with integrated airbag module

This vehicle seat back (10) incorporates a safety airbag module (14) in which the airbag (18) is inflated by means of a gas lance (20) connected to a gas cylinder (22). The airbag module (14) has a blast channel (16) which is mounted on the seat frame between the rigid seat cover (26) and the flexible seat padding (28) so that, when the airbag (18) is inflated, a gap (34) forms between them allowing the airbag to pass easily through.
