Combustion engine
DRIVE
April 10, 2002
The engine has a combustion chamber, connected via an outlet valve to an expansion chamber, and several compressor pumps (23) with air intake valves. Each intake valve (24) may be throttled. The volume of the cylinder chamber (25) of a compressor pump, or the complete volume of all pump cylinder chambers, is larger by at least 25%, pref. at least 50%, than the volume for filling the combustion chamber (7) with a mixture having an air ratio of alpha = 1, for a fuel volume introduced for full engine load.
