Limiting control of the input torque to a transmission during start

A vehicle start-up control method in a drive system (1) includes a drive engine (4) and a gearbox unit (3) coupled to it with two or more gear speeds and one or more hydrodynamic gearing parts. By taking into account any change in current gear speed, gear selection torque on a gear selection shaft in the gearbox unit is controlled in such a way that a specific previously definable limiting value for the output moment of force on the output for the gearbox unit is not exceeded.
